The farmhouse of Casi di Simonetta lies in a small hamlet called Adine in Chianti, a perfect location from which to explore wine farms and historic villages while roaming the famous hills of Tuscany.

Visit the nearby historic villages of Lecchi, Radda and Greve. The traditional time of relaxation at the end of the Italian workday includes a passeggiata and aperitivo: experience the dolce vita by people watching from a public bench or  bar where you will be served generous snacks alongside your aperitivo of choice. Campri sodas, Aperol spritz and Italian beer are traditional end of day refreshments.

Italians often take a walk and an ice cream (gelato) or single drink before dinner.

Our most favourite bar is of course at home on the terrace at farmhouse Casa di Simonetta. An everyday stroll with a backpack of snacks plus beverages can take you to a viewpoint looking over Tuscan forests, vineyards and olive groves.

Our favourite wine farms include Caparsa, Volpaia and Ama di Nuovo.

Our favourite piazzas can be found in Greve (Piazza Matteoti), Siena (ll Campo) and Firenze (Santo Spirito).

Visiting markets and cooking at home is what a Tuscan holiday is all about. In-between home dining, there are an abundance of Trattorias, Osterias and Bars to take in the local dishes of the season (and try later alla casa).

Some of our favourites include Lecchis’s Bar (2km away), Le Panzanelle and Locanda Lucarelli, Vecchia Bettola just outside Firenze centro and L’Osteria in Siena.
